Tank Removal Empire Services, also operating as Empire Wrecking Company of Reading, PA, was established in 1955. We specialize in demolition, excavation and site development projects, with trained crews and an inventory of heavy equipment. Our sister company Elk Environmental Services has been in the environmental business for more than 25 years, offering an array of services from consulting, to hazardous waste transportation and disposal, to remedial field services. Both our firms have in-depth experience in working with USTs and ASTs.
Under the direction of one of our professional project managers, we are certified by the DEP to accomplish tank inspection and tank handling activities:
- Site assessments, characterization, and consultation.
- Subsurface investigations for leaks, and to determine the extent of leaks.
- Precision tank and line testing.
- Tank cleaning, maintenance, repair, and upgrading.
- In-place temporary or permanent tank closures.
- Excavation, tank removal, and disposal (including the proper handling of any waste materials contained in the tank), plus clean-up of contaminated soil if necessary.
- Pre-installation inspection of new tanks.
- Complete installation of tanks, piping and associated systems, and monitoring equipment.
