The Summer of Culverts
This summer, Empire Services stayed busy tackling culvert replacement projects across multiple counties. Each project presented its own unique challenges—from working around an active golf course to removing severely corroded piping and completing excavation in tight workspaces. Through it all, our crews brought their “A” game, combining experience, knowledge, and the right equipment to get the job done safely and efficiently.
Culverts “FOUR” a Golf Course
The Empire Services team replaced two failing culverts at a local golf course—all while dodging errant golf balls and golfers making their way to the next green. Working carefully around the course’s daily operations, the team minimized disruptions while improving drainage and keeping the area accessible for continued use.

A Narrow Culvert
Contracted by Earl Township, Empire Services completed a storm sewer culvert replacement project that restored an aging drainage system and helped ensure it can continue protecting the roadway and surrounding properties for years to come.
The team installed durable concrete piping designed to withstand heavy traffic loads, changing weather conditions, and continuous water flow. Each pipe was carefully aligned and securely connected to create a reliable, long-lasting stormwater drainage system.
A Culvert in the Valley
Located in a small valley in Sinking Spring, this storm sewer culvert was due for replacement after its aging metal piping became compromised. The team replaced the existing system with 36-inch HDPE plastic pipes, improving drainage and providing a more durable solution. The completed project resulted in a stronger, longer lasting, and more functional culvert.
From an active golf course to a narrow roadway excavation site and everything in between, Empire Services put its people, equipment, and experience to work improving the infrastructure communities rely on every day.
